You’ve Been Booed | Start a Fun Halloween Tradition

preschool children making you've been booed baskets with their grandmother

Are you looking for a new Halloween tradition to start in your neighborhood? Why not Boo your neighbors? Starting a “You’ve Been Booed” chain is a great way to connect with neighbors, get outside, and create some Halloween magic for your family.

How to Boo Your Neighborhood

It’s easy to start Booing your neighborhood! Here’s how to participate in the popular “You’ve Been Booed” trend:

  1. For each house you plan to Boo, put together a basket of Halloween treats, toys, games, decorations, or anything else you want to include. It can be a small or large, simple or elaborate – the fun is in the Booing!
  2. Print one “You’ve Been Booed” sign (with instructions) and two “We’ve Been Booed” signs.
  3. Deliver the basket and signs to a neighbor’s house, ring the doorbell, and run away! Try not to let your neighbor see you, but it won’t ruin the fun if they do.
  4. Each neighbor who is Booed will then hang the “We’ve Been Booed” sign on their door so other families know not to deliver a basket to their house, and start the process over for other neighbors. Usually, each family will Boo two other houses, but you can Boo as many neighbors as you’d like!
