Supplies needed to make sponge paint turkey for a handmade Thanksgiving kids craft

Instructions:

  1. Cover your workspace and gather your materials.
  2. Cut the sponge into strips. (This requires adult supervision and for younger children, the adult should cut the sponge.)
  3. Pour small amounts of paint onto a paper plate. Your child will dip the sponge into the paint on the plate and place it on another paper plate.
  4. Dip the sponge into the paint and dap onto the paper plate. Get creative and mix colors or create patterns. Cover the entire paper plate with paint. Have fun!
  5. Set the paper plate aside to dry.
  6. While the paper plate is drying, cut out the face/body, beak, and wattle for the turkey.
  7. Glue the googly eyes, beak, and wattle onto your turkey.
  8. Once the paint is dry, glue the turkey face/body onto the paper plate.

Display your sponge painting turkey craft or give to a loved one as a Thanksgiving decoration.
