I live in Rosemount and have two kids that have both grown up attending New Horizon Academy. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Winona State University, and I have spent my career working at New Horizon Academy first as a preschool teacher, then as an assistant director, and now as a director. In my free time I enjoy gardening, house projects, and spending time with friends and family!

I love that our center is very neighborhood based. The children and families are able to walk and bike to school on nice days! They are also able to meet other families that live nearby and have the opportunity to build relationships that will continue into elementary school and beyond.

I started working for New Horizon Academy fresh out of high school. I started out as a teacher’s aide and have since moved up in the company, becoming an assistant director. I have a family full of twins and somehow I am the only girl out of 6 sets. I love going on hikes and chasing waterfalls – I could spend all my time outside soaking up the sun.

What do you like about early childhood?
I love being able to spend my day teaching little minds and watching children grow into the wonderful people that they become. I love all the hugs and hearing children telling me how much they enjoy having me. It gives you a whole different meaning to life knowing the impact you have on others.
What makes your school unique?
I think our school is unique because out of 15 staff members, 14 of them are teacher qualified, special thanks to them working on their CDA for that.

We have been at the Eagan New Horizon Academy for almost four years and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a safe, loving environment for their children! My now six-year-old was more than prepared to start kindergarten this year, and I believe much of his success was due to the preparation he received in preschool. My two-year-old loves her teachers and comes home chatting about playing, reading, painting, and friends. We also love Eagan’s front office staff! We always feel like our voices are heard.

Our Eagan daycare center is open Monday-Friday every day with the exception of nine holidays:
*On Christmas Eve, New Horizon Academy closes at 3:00 p.m.
*If one of these holidays falls on a weekend, it will be observed on either Friday or Monday.

Yes! At New Horizon Academy Eagan (Lexington), we have an on-site cook trained in nutrition, USDA guidelines, and proper portions for young children. Our school provides nutritious and nourishing meals every day including breakfast, lunch, and snack. All meals are included in the cost of tuition.
