Harvest Food Painting Activity

Get your child to explore symmetry, food, color, and patterns by creating paintings with your young artist using harvest foods. Turn the designs into prints with this simple craft!

Materials Needed

  • Washable Paint
  • Fruits and Vegetables (apples, corn, pumpkin)
  • Paper
  • Plates
  • Paint Brush
  • Sharp Knife
  • Plastic Knives
  • Cutting Board

Instructions

  1. Cut the fruits and vegetables in half (if desired), so you can see seeds and shapes inside.
  2. Spread the different paint colors on several plates.
  3. Dip or brush on the paint, then firmly press the fruits and veggies to create prints on paper. Let the artwork dry.
