Welcome to Our School-age Program!
Our school-age program provides a happy, club-like atmosphere where children grow in all learning domains. The rhythm of the program takes into account each school-age child’s desire to form lasting friendships and to explore theme-related topics of interest.
Our Teachers
Teachers create an environment where there is a balance between homework support, recreation, and active learning. Teachers plan
opportunities for exploration to help children build a foundation of literacy, math, science, and social skills all while having fun. Our teachers understand school-age development and present activities that reinforce the school-age child’s need for self-esteem, friendship, rules, play, self-awareness, physical development, and the importance of routines.Our Curriculum
The Passport to Fun® curriculum is specifically developed for school-age children. Teachers use weekly themes to create lesson plans to provide activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. The curriculum focuses on character development with a strong emphasis on community service experiences.
Outdoor Adventures and Activities
To balance out the academic portion of your school-age child’s day, our curriculum includes plenty of time for outdoor recreation and fun.

Communication with Parents
Every day, you will receive a written, detailed account of your child’s schedule, activities, and development. This open communication is ongoing throughout your child’s experience at New Horizon Academy.
Help with Homework
In a relaxed and encouraging environment, your school-age child will be provided with homework assistance by our caring and educated teachers.
Summer Program-Camp Discovery
The summer program at New Horizon Academy, Camp Discovery, is your child's passport to a summer of fun, friends, and field trips. We have created the most fun-filled, action-packed summer program based on our 40+ years of experience with young children and school-age children who are on summer vacation. A new theme each month challenges kids through experiments, special projects, games, crafts, and stories from around the world. Our summer activities will develop your child's intellect, social skills, creative thought, and most importantly, self-esteem.
