I’m from a small town in the Philadelphia suburbs and moved to Minnesota with my family in 2013. Along with having a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State University, I also have a degree in Pastry Arts from Bucks County Community College Culinary Arts Program. On the weekends, my daughter and I love to find new places to explore and hike.

What do you like about early childhood?
I love seeing the expressions on the children’s faces when the light bulb goes off, and they finally figure out something they have been working on.
What makes your school unique?
All of our educators bring a personal and creative approach to teaching, fostering a warm, family-like environment that welcomes and includes our center families in everything we do. We are proud to have a diverse population of both students and teachers, reflecting our community’s rich cultures. Our school partners with local organizations from various backgrounds and celebrates diversity through activities and events that highlight different cultures and traditions.

Our Burnsville early childhood center is open Monday-Friday every day with the exception of nine holidays:
*On Christmas Eve, New Horizon Academy closes at 3:00 p.m.
*If one of these holidays falls on a weekend, it will be observed on either Friday or Monday.
*Our school will remain open during inclement weather to ensure children still have access to quality childcare.

Yes! At New Horizon Academy Burnsville (35E), we have an on-site cook trained in nutrition, USDA guidelines, and proper portions for young children. Our school provides nutritious and nourishing meals every day including breakfast, lunch, and snack. All meals are included in the cost of tuition.

The teachers and staff are WONDERFUL! They are so kind and welcoming the second you walk in. There is honestly no other daycare I would take my son to. He looks forward to learning new things and playing with his friends every day. Thank you, New Horizon Academy, for being such wonderful caregivers!
I’ve had my children at the Burnsville New Horizon Academy for the last three years and have always completely trusted them to take care of my kids. Since we first enrolled, we’ve moved further away with plenty of daycares closer to us, but I 100% choose to make the extra drive because of how much I trust them to not only care for my kids but also teach them so much.
We’ve been sending our son to New Horizon Academy for a year now. The staff is responsive and kind. If we ever had a question, they’ve been a great resource to get answers. They have fair policy to have you get the most out of your daycare experience while emphasizing safety. Communication has been paramount for the staff there; we receive daily updates of our son’s activities, photos, instant messages, and email updates from the staff. We have had a great experience here and our son enjoys seeing his teachers everyday.
I have had a child at New Horizon Academy in Burnsville for the last 8 years. It has been a place where my children feel safe, loved, and supported as they grow. I’ve loved the small center because I get to know all the teachers, meet my children’s classmates and their families at drop-off and pick-up, and feel confident that my children are getting the attention they need. My children have been well prepared for kindergarten.
