One of four locations in Plymouth, Minnesota, the Plymouth – Highway 55 New Horizon Academy is conveniently located on the edge of Plymouth and Golden Valley, off Highway 55 and 169. Our daycare opened in 1992, is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and holds a four-star rating from Minnesota Parent Aware. Our Plymouth childcare center has two infant daycare rooms, two toddler daycare rooms, three preschool and pre-kindergarten rooms, and one school-age room. All of our childcare classrooms utilize an age-appropriate curriculum, which incorporates reading, STEAM, social-emotional learning, and more. I live in Bloomington with my husband and our Plott Hound dog. We have a wonderful blended family with four adult children. In my free time, you can find me outdoors gardening, sailing, fishing, sitting by the fire, or reading. I am a huge Minnesota sports fan—whether it’s the Twins, Vikings, or T-Wolves.

Our Plymouth early childhood center is open Monday-Friday every day with the exception of nine holidays:
*On Christmas Eve, New Horizon Academy closes at 3:00 p.m.
*If one of these holidays falls on a weekend, it will be observed on either Friday or Monday.
*Our school will remain open during inclement weather to ensure children still have access to quality childcare.

I am eternally grateful for this center and its staff. My children have attended the New Horizon Academy on Highway 55 for the last five years and love it! The teachers are very caring and we have formed amazing relationships with them. They feel like family! My youngest has grown and learned so much with New Horizon Academy’s curriculum.
This New Horizon Academy was such a saving grace for us. When we moved to Plymouth unexpectedly, we had two children in daycare and had to scramble to find a new daycare center for them. New Horizon Academy was able to get our toddlers enrolled quickly and we have had nothing but good experiences ever since. The teachers are caring and kind and the director is very supportive and approachable. We are so incredibly grateful for the kindness and care they have provided our children.
New Horizon Academy has been such a great experience. My 8 and 6 year old have gone there since they were infants. They learned so much in their preschool program; my husband and I were completely confident that the transition to elementary school would be great. And it was!! The director and the entire staff are very welcoming and they really make you feel like family. We would and do recommend New Horizon Academy.
I love how family oriented the center is and how the staff and management get to know the whole family and not just the kids. I’ve recommended other parents I know here because I love it so much. My kid learns so much everyday!
