Commitment to Accreditation
New Horizon Academy is committed to the philosophy and guidelines set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Accreditation by NAEYC is a voluntary process achieved by approximately 10 percent of early learning programs nationwide. NAEYC accreditation is a comprehensive examination of the center's entire program and is a collaborative effort between management, parents, and the teaching staff. Of particular focus are the interactions between the teaching staff and children, which is the foundation of any high quality program. Health and safety policies and practices, staff qualifications and training systems, classroom environments, child assessments, community connections, and communication with families are also closely reviewed during the NAEYC accreditation process.
At New Horizon Academy, 98 percent of our eligible programs in Minnesota are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young children (NAEYC), the recognized gold standard in the early education industry. This is an accomplishment we are confident no other child care provider of our size has ever achieved.
As an organization, we made a commitment to voluntarily pursue and successfully maintain NAEYC accreditation for all our programs. Research has demonstrated that NAEYC accreditation has a positive impact on early childhood education program quality, including real benefits to children, families, and staff alike.
